Vehicle Description 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop Let me show you something about value. Value in styling for instance. Only in higher priced cars can you find the smartness of this body by Fisher. The new motoramic Chevy has a certain luxury look that in model after model can mean only one thing; value, big value. And these new engines, two new sixes and a new V8, a power range that goes from 123 to 180 horsepower. Again, that's Chevrolet for you. Big value. From a 1955 Chevrolet commercial. For consignment, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop with a title verified 2,353 actual miles. This car was the recipient of a frame off restoration and has factory power steering and power brakes. Exterior In what was normal and mainstream in the 50's is now iconic today, the two tone paint schemes that every American manufacturer utilized on their fleets, and this one presents in two stage Regal Turquoise with India Ivory out back, delineated by artful polished trim that was also prominent in the 50's. The front wheel opening and rocker are trimmed, the window reveal is trimmed leading to a stylish and bold C-pillar, and the hood ornament tops a facsic trimmed in chrome and underscored by a large bumper. Artistic thought went into the 15-inch wheels as well, with a color keyed rim, polished cover, and white walls that help complete the vision you see here. Flaws are few and include some paint runs, blistering at the base of the decklid, some light pitting on the tail light housing, clear coat drops, visible adhesive on a call out, and a few scattered chips. Interior The palette is mirrored on the inside where white and turquoise are stacked on the door panels in both smooth and stitched vinyl, both doors presenting in nice condition. The seats are also in great shape with beige cloth meeting smooth, turquoise vinyl, split bench of up front and full bench in back. Unlike the standard black motif of today's cars, in the 50's they color matched the steering wheel and dash, hard surfaces for sure, but glossy, stylish, and in the case here, amazingly clean, the stamped Chevrolet bowties in the polished mid dash being the ultimate Easter egg. No black carpet here either, it's turquoise and protected by vintage style blue mats. Polished bows support the white headliner and a black rubberized mat fills the trunk, all clean. Drivetrain The show quality standards continue to the engine bay that houses a 265ci V8, rated at 162 horsepower and fueled by a 4-barrel carburetor. It's mated to a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission that routes power to 3.55 gears in the rear axle. As noted, power brakes and power steering are on board. Undercarriage Pretty much what we expected here, a virtually flawless underside with clean surfaces and zero rust. Dual exhaust runs through stock style mufflers and exit with chrome deflectors beyond the rear bumper. Power drum brakes are front and rear and suspension consists of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back. Drive-Ability Back to '55 we go and reliving the experience of leaving the dealership is a fresh and shiny Bel Air, what a day that must have been! This one runs as nice as it looks leaving no doubt it will get you to the show and back. We note the heater blower and reverse lights are not working but all other functions operate as intended on this restored classic. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. If the first Tri-five Bel Air has been on your wish list, and you want no compromises in quality and originality, this example might just be for you! We've seen our share of Tri-fives over the years and can confirm that this is a stunner.
